Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary Route 6, South Wellfleet (508) 349-2615 Operated by the Massachusetts Audubon Society, the sanctuary offers programs for adults, children and families. Some Hightlights: Family Seal Cruise and Outer Beach Hike Dates offered: 8/29, 8/30, 9/2, 9/4 Cruise along the coast of Chatham looking for gray seals in the water and on sand bars. A naturalist will help to identify these animals, interpret their behavior, and provide activities to help children make observations. Afterwards, you’ll get off the boat and explore South Beach, one of Cape Cod’s famous barrier beaches. Beachcomb for seashells and keep your eyes out for shorebirds living and foraging nearby. Wear shoes that can get wet. Bring hat, sunscreen, drinking water.
